SO, HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PLASTER A ROOM?

It's not a trick question but the answer is tricky as there are so many variables when it comes to plastering a room. For example, do you need all the old plaster hacked off, the walls drylined and then skimmed or do you just need the old walls to be prepped up, repaired and then skimmed? The former is likely to set you back £1,500 / £2,000 for an average room whilst just having the walls skimmed will be in the region of £700 / £1,000 including all the materials.

HOW MUCH TO REPLASTER A CEILING?

Giving old ceilings a makeover is a great idea providing they are solid. A bit of light cracking is okay as all the cracks can be dealt with in the prep work. When it comes to skim coating a ceiling the cost should range between £400 / £700 depending on the condition and the size of the ceiling. Good prep work is essential to ensure old cracks don't open up again and getting loads of uni-bond adhesive on will ensure that the new plaster stays put. If you are skimming out the walls and ceilings, you should be able to get a far better price.
