These can be display niches anywhere in the bathrom where a section is cut out of the wall to provide recessed shelving. We almost always fit niches in the shower walls because they are essential for the shower necessities and look much better than some sort of shelf or chrome rack. You can also look at adding lighting or using fibre optic lights to the niches to add some real drama.
